Ingredients

  • 1 cup (80 g) rolled oats
  • 1 cup (227 g) nonfat Greek yogurt
  • 1 scoop (30 g) vanilla protein powder
  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk
  • 1 cup (150 g) berries (optional)
  • 1 tsp honey (optional)
  • Pinch of cinnamon and salt

How to make it

  1. Prep everythingGrab two 16 oz (475 ml) jars or containers with lids. Measure out the 1 cup (80 g) rolled oats, 1 cup (227 g) Greek yogurt, 1 scoop (30 g) protein powder and 1 cup (240 ml) milk. Rinse the 1 cup (150 g) berries and pat them dry.
  2. Whisk in the proteinPour the milk into a medium bowl and add the protein powder. Whisk for about 30 seconds, until completely smooth with no lumps. Doing this first stops the powder from clumping.
  3. Stir in the restAdd the oats, yogurt, a pinch of cinnamon and a pinch of salt. Stir until fully combined and you see no dry oats.
  4. Fill the jarsSplit the mixture evenly between the two jars and put the lids on tight.
  5. Chill overnightRefrigerate overnight, or at least 4 hours. The oats soak up the liquid and turn thick and creamy, almost like pudding.
  6. Top and serveWhen you are ready to eat, give it a stir. If it is too thick, loosen it with a splash of water. Top each jar with half the berries and 1/2 tsp honey. These keep 4 days in the fridge; add the berries the morning you eat them so they stay fresh.
Chef's tipAlways whisk the protein powder into the milk before anything else goes in. Dumped in last, it forms dry clumps that never fully mix.
