Salvage Health ("we", "us") is run by Bryan Dourado. This page explains what information the website salvagehealth.com collects, why, and the choices you have. Questions: hello@salvagehealth.com.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you join the free Starter Kit, the Cook Twice waitlist, or the new-drops list. We also record which page you signed up from (for example "home" or "merch") so we know what is working.
- Starter Kit answers, if you use the calculator and plan builder (such as goal, age, height, weight and activity level). These are kept in your own browser so the tools remember you. If you send them to us through a form, we receive them as part of your signup.
- Coaching intake answers, if you complete a coaching application. These are used only to decide whether coaching is a fit and to contact you.
- Basic technical data that our hosting provider records when you visit a page, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested.
We do not run advertising trackers or tracking pixels on this site. We use one analytics tool, PostHog, described under Site analytics below.
How we use it
- To send you the Starter Kit and the emails you signed up for, and to tell you about new content, books and products.
- To reply to your messages and run coaching.
- To keep the site working and secure.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who handles it for us
- Kit (kit.com) stores your email address and sends our emails.
- PostHog counts visits and quiz steps for us (see Site analytics below).
- Netlify hosts the site and keeps a backup copy of form submissions.
- Fourthwall runs the merch shop. If you buy there, Fourthwall handles your order, payment and shipping under its own privacy policy.
- Google Fonts delivers the site's typefaces, which means your browser contacts Google's servers when a page loads.
- Amazon, Spotify and Instagram links leave this site. Their own policies apply once you click through.
Site analytics
We use PostHog to count visits and see which steps of the Salvage Check people reach, so we can make the site and the quiz better. PostHog records the pages you view, the quiz step you reached, your device and browser type, rough location (country or region) and the site that sent you here. We set PostHog to discard IP addresses, and we never send your quiz answers, scores, name or email to PostHog. Your quiz answers go only to our email provider, Kit, when you ask for your results. PostHog stores a small cookie or browser storage entry so it can tell visits apart. You can block it with your browser settings or an ad blocker, and the site still works.
Cookies and browser storage
We do not set advertising cookies. The only analytics cookie or storage entry is PostHog's, described above. Our tools use your browser's local storage to remember things like your goals, your saved recipes and whether you have joined the list, so you do not have to re-enter them. You can clear this any time in your browser settings.
Email choices
Every email has an unsubscribe link. You can also email us to be removed.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@salvagehealth.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state or national privacy laws, and we will honor them.
Health information
Salvage Health shares education, not medical advice, and we are not a healthcare provider. Please do not send us medical records or lab results by email or through the site's forms.
Children
This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date above.
